I don’t know about y’all, but I’m ready to start some seeds! I’ve been looking at a lot of material lately as far as the how’s and why’s go, so I thought I’d share a little of what I’ve learned. There’s some great tips and tricks out there, but the folks over at GrowVeg have actually made a video that shows some great gardening hacks.
As far as gardening software goes, I’ve seen on several review sites that Plangarden is one of the best out there. You can check out a great review at TopTenReviews. A great thing about Plangarden is that they’re currently offering a 45 day trial so you can make sure that it works for you. It’s $20 a year, so not really a bad price at all with what you’re getting.
If you’re looking for something a wee bit less expensive, you can also try out GardenMinder. It’s an app for Android devices. You can even take a free test drive of it from your home computer.
It’s a $1.99 right now on Amazon.com so not bad at all.
GrowVeg also has some great tips on organic (free-ish) homemade fertilizers.
If you don’t have comfrey growing naturally around you, then you can get some certified organic non-GMO heirloom seeds here. Stinging nettle is another option they talk about. It’s also available online here. These seeds are also certified organic non-GMO heirloom seeds. Tons of great information out there. If you have other sources for these plants then by all means use them! This is just what I came up with on a quick search.
As a bonus, both the nettle and the comfrey make a great tea for you too!
